The Explorer's unique design features a dovetail clamping system using spring-loaded pins to ensure positive and safe connections, allowing for quick assembly and disassembly without tools. This also allows the user to transform the Explorer from a Jib Arm to an elevated Trolley system in minutes.

Unlike most jib arms that have only a parallelogram on the front and a single counterweight arm on the back, the Explorer has a parallelogram on the back as well as the front. This allows for the use of a weight bucket that lets you to use whatever is handy--spare batteries, rocks, bottles of water, etc. as counterweight, thereby eliminating the need to transport metal weights.

The Explorer will mount onto any 100mm-topped tripod; however, we recommend using the Explorer tripod because often other tripods are not strong enough to support a jib. Our tripod can carry up to 300 lbs. (136kg.)

	The Explorer trolley mounts onto the rails to become a 6’ slider. The wheels are grooved so they lock securely onto the rails. Transform the jib arm in minutes without tools to an elevated trolley system. The rail portion of the jib arm stays assembled. The tripod is moved to one end and angled monopods are positioned at the other end.

Our new Explorer 3-Leg Dolly has wheel clusters that look like traditional track wheels, but are designed to function as both track and floor wheels.

This means you can roll your assembled jib arm on any smooth floor or switch to track without changing the wheels. In addition, one of the wheel clusters features our signature floating arm mechanism for use with our award-winning FlexTrak.

Another useful configuration is to make the Explorer into a mini-jib using only 2 rails instead of 4. We think of this more as a tripod- enhancer than a jib arm. It takes up almost no more space than the footprint of the tripod, so it can be used in tight locations, and its 30” (76cm) of lift can provide a significant move. Or it can be used to simply reposition the camera far more quickly than adjusting the height of tripod.

	(Note: The boom range above is listed as 66", yet the high-to-low figures are listed as being 25" to 101" which equals 76". This 10" disparity is because the 100 mm cup is mounted to a 12" vertical rail that can be adjusted up and down to maximize either the high or low point.)
